A number of thyroxine derivatives have been studied for effects on growth and secretory ac tivity of mouse pituitary thyrotropic tumors. Three tumors, dependent-responsive (4183), auton omous responsive (L24), and autonomous nonresponsive (L23), were employed. No unique abil ity to suppress tumor growth was demonstrated, and most of the analogs were found to be inactive.
